Graduate Women in Robotics Community

We at MIT seek to build a tighter-knit women in robotics community across departments at the Institute. This is open to all female-identifying graduate students, post-docs, faculty etc. roboticists affiliated with MIT.

We primarily facilitate community building via a mix of events, focusing on lunches with guest speakers and casual socials. Our lunches give us the space to chat about research, career, personal experience, etc. with an accomplished roboticist. So far we have been lucky enough to talk with Karen Liu, Henny Admoni and Radhika Nagpal - to name a few! Our socials have included hanging out at the Muddy, a bowling night and a Gather.town game night!

Subscribe to the list here (http://mailman.mit.edu.ezproxy.canberra.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/women-in-robotics). Membership to the list is moderated and is restricted to female-identifying graduate students, post-docs and faculty affiliated with MIT. The mailing list is both used to advertise events and to serve as a discussion space.

GWiRC is generously financially supported by Robotics@MIT and the Kanako Miura Fund, which was established to honor MIT researcher Kanako Miura and "empower female students, researchers, and visiting faculty on our campus who share the same passion that Kanako had for robotics." We are advised by Alberto Rodriguez and Russ Tedrake with awesome administrative support from Lisa Mayer and Gretchen Jones.
